We are located in North Stamford, Connecticut, along Long Ridge Road, about 4 miles north of the Merritt Parkway (Connecticut Route 15) and about ½ mile south of the New York State border (Westchester County).

Stamford is on the piece of Connecticut that reaches into New York State; we're less than one hour from Manhattan, via the Merritt Parkway (the Connecticut extension of the Hutchinson Parkway in Westchester County) or I-684.

From Stamford and points south and along the Merritt Parkway, drive north from the Merritt Parkway on Long Ridge Road, Route 104, past 3 blinker lights (about 4.2 miles).  The Church is on the left, just beyond North Lake Drive. (If you reach Rockrimmon Country Club, you've gone too far.)

FromI-95:

  • Northbound (from NYC): exit 7 (Greenwich Avenue). Straight at first light, left at second light, onto Washington Boulevard. Continue north on this about 2 miles; it will become Cold Spring Road. Turn left on Long Ridge Road, Route 104, and continue north 6.5 miles, to the Church
  • Southbound (from Norwalk and New Haven: Exit 7: Atlantic Street. Straight at first two lights, then right onto Washington Boulevard. Follow the directions immediately above. (Alternatively, you might choose to take the Route 7 connector -- I-95, Exit 15 -- north to the third exit, marked "Route 15, New York City"; take the Merritt Parkway south to Exit 34 and follow the directions from the Merritt.)

From the green in Bedford Village, NY, drive east on Route 172.  Turn right at the Mobil Station, onto Route 104, Long Ridge Road, following signs for Stamford.  The state line is about 2.5 miles from that turn.  The Church and Parish House are on the right, ¼ mile south of the state line, on the right, just south of Echo Hill Road.

From Pound Ridge & Scotts Corner, drive south on High Ridge Road (Route 137) to Mayapple Road, the blinker light ½ mile south of the state line.  Turn right on Mayapple, and go about 1 mile.  At the 3-way stop sign, bear right on Rockrimmon Road, and follow it to its end on Old Long Ridge Road, about 1.3 miles.  Turn right on Old Long Ridge Road, and then immediately left on Long Ridge Road.  The Church is on the right, less than ¼ mile south, just beyond Echo Hill Road.

From back country Greenwich: from TaconicRoad, head east on Farms Road, then turn left on Riverbank Road and follow it until it ends on Long Ridge Road. Turn left on Long Ridge Road, and continue north, past one blinker light (Erskine Road/Long Ridge Tavern. St. Francis' will be on your left

From northern New Canaan: you might go up through Scotts Corner, and follow the directions above, or take Ponus Ridge Road north to where it meets Trinity Pass Road; turn left and follow this to High Ridge Road. Turn left on High Ridge, then make the next right, at the blinker, onto Mayapple Road; continue with the Pound Ridge/Scotts Corner directions from that point.

Look for signs for the St. Francis’ Church and the Canaan Ridge School.

From New York City:
West Side
: Henry Hudson Parkway north to Cross County Parkway. East to Hutchinson Parkway. North on the Hutch to the Connecticut State Line, where Route 15 becomes the Merritt Parkway. Nine miles to Exit 34, Long Ridge Road. Turn left and follow the directions at the top.

East Side: FDR Drive north, across Triboro Bridge, northeast on Bruckner Expressway. Exit onto the Hutchinson Parkway which will become the Merritt Parkway at the Connecticut State Line. Nine miles to Exit 34, Long Ridge Road. Turn left and follow the directions at the top.

The historic Chapel is at 503 Old Long Ridge Road, in Long Ridge Village.


From Stamford and points south and along the Merritt Parkway:

  • The fast route: Drive north from Merritt Parkway exit 34, on Long Ridge Road (Route 104), past 3 blinker lights. Continue north, past the Parish House (2810 Long Ridge Road), and make an over-your-shoulder right turn at the next opportunity, onto Old Long Ridge Road.  The chapel is three doors south of Rockrimmon Road, at 503 Old Long Ridge Road.
  • The scenic route: Drive north on Long Ridge Road, 3 miles from the Merritt Parkway.  Bear right on Old Long Ridge Road, past Giovanni’s Market (on the right).  Continue north past Long Ridge Tavern (on the left), the firehouse (on the left), and Long Ridge Congregational Church (on the right) to #503.

FromI-95:

At that point, you are at the meeting points of the fast and scenic routes above, and can choose; fast means turning left here; scenic means making a gentle left.
