We are glad that you have found St. Francis and hope that this site will give you a sense of the spirit and life of the community here. 

We are an open, inclusive community that embraces the best aspects of the Episcopal tradition by seeing and serving Christ in all whom we meet.  The expression of worship and belief at St. Francis can probably best be described as progressive and nimble, as we seek to integrate a strong spiritual life with the gifts, realities and complexities of the modern world.  Mindful of the varied religious expressions in the world today, we honor the gift of the divine found in other traditions, as well.  We have a high level of parishioner involvement in the many social, educational and outreach programs that we sponsor, providing opportunities for parishioners of all ages and circumstances to be enriched by our community.  In all these endeavors, we also manage to have a great deal of fun, which the St. Francis community endorses as one of the best ways to appreciate the gifts of this life and each other. Worthy of specific mention are the following areas that shape and enhance our life and life together:

        Outreach—         Inviting youth and adults to serve those in need within
                                    our community, the region, and throughout the world.

        Music—               Enhancing worship through the beauty of music and offering
                                    opportunities for youth and adults to sing and enjoy the gift
                                    of music.

        Education—        Taking our tradition so seriously that we don’t take it
                                    too seriously and offering a number of forums, programs,
                                    and retreats that engage the mind and heart, the individual
                                    and community, and faith and reason.

        Community—    Recognizing the need for all of us to connect with others,
                                   and enjoying the gift of life together through any number of
                                   social opportunities and activities.

True to our namesake, we at St. Francis are people of faith who experience the love and grace of God in the mystery and beauty of the creation that surrounds us.  Our location in bucolic North Stamford continually reminds us of the diversity and gift of life.  Whether worshipping in the Historic Chapel or the Church, we are ever mindful of the wonder of creation.
