A Visit to Blythedale Children's Hospital
Saturday, February 7th -- 1:30 PM
95 Bradhurst Ave., Valhalla, New York

On Saturday, February 7th, the children and youth of St. Francis (in the 5th grade and higher), and their parents will visit the Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla, New York.  Blythedale is a pediatric rehabilitation hospital where children often stay for longer periods of time than at a regular hospital in order to recover from accidents or surgeries.

The drive there from St. Francis is approximately 35 minutes. The visit will consist of a tour of hospital and the opportunity to participate in a worship service with the children and their families.

During  Sunday School on February 1st, our children will make a craft which will be given to the children in the hospital.  Our seminarian, Debra Slade is the chaplain at the hospital and she will coordinate the service and ask for some assistance with readings and prayers.  The service will have prayers from different religions and will be open to all.
We request that at least one parent come with his/her child.  As the service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Please meet in the lobby of the hospital at 1:15, and have lunch before you come.  We will have tour of the hospital after the service and leave no later than 3:00 PM.

For more information about the hospital see http://www.blythedale.org/.  If you would like more information about the visit, please contact Debra at Debra.Slade@gmail.com or (203) 894-9345 (home) or (914) 592-7555 Ext. 315.

If you plan to attend, please let Nancy Geary know by February 4th. at NWgeary@aol.com.
