St. Francis Church is deeply committed to Outreach – both in the distribution of our resources and in the involvement of our people.
Our Grants Program distributes more than $25,000 per year to organizations that help the most vulnerable members of society. Most of this is distributed locally, but special needs in other parts of the United States and around the world are funded as well.
Load-a-Truck Sunday – June 7, 2015
St. John’s Lutheran Church challenged other churches in Stamford to collect as much food as possible for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. We are proud that St. Francis parishioners contributed almost 500 pounds of food in one weekend.
Midnight Run-Friday May 8, 2015
Thank you to all who helped make the May 8th Midnight Run a success! We had a great turn out from our parish and St. John’s Lutheran Church and a wonderful infusion of individuals from outside either parish. Make sure to look for “Run” dates in the fall!
The Outreach Committee coordinates many hands-on projects as well, such as the twice a year Midnight Run into New York city to distribute food, clothing and toiletries to the homeless, meal preparation at the Shelter for the Homeless, and preparation of food boxes at Christmastime through Person-to-Person’s Dove Box Program, and regular food drives for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County
