Global Help & Caring
Heifer Project

Heifer International is a charitable organization that works with communities around the world to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. By providing livestock to poor families, they help those families to improve their nutrition and generate income.
Each year, St. Francis’ Christian Education students plan a fundraising project to raise money that will be donated to Heifer International to buy an animal for a family in need. The project is tied to education and awareness about the needs of others.

Haiti

After the devastating Earthquake in Haiti in 2010, St. Francis made several grants to support the rebuilding efforts and to help local families deal with issues that faced as they sought to help their loved ones.

More recently, St. Francis has become involved with Haiti Lumiere de Demain (HLD) a non-profit organization based in Fairfield County that works to promote literacy and educational opportunities for school children in rural and impoverished parts of Haiti. Most recently, St. Francis was the venue for a Gospel Concert that raised funds for HLD to purchase solar flashlights for Haitian children who live in areas without electricity.
