Join us during the Lenten season to explore more fully the intersection of faith and life and the implications of God’s love for you. Henri Nouwen’s Life of the Beloved is a classic. He describes to a good friend who is not a Christian the fundamentals of the tradition. In doing so, he offers for us a wonderful expression of our tradition and a lens through which we might better read ourselves and the world. We will discuss Nouwen’s text after the 10 AM service during Lent.
Classes will focus on the following:
February 26: Prologue
March 4: Being the Beloved
March 11: Becoming the Beloved - Taken
March 18: Becoming the Beloved - Blessed
March 25: Becoming the Beloved - Broken
April 1: Becoming the Beloved - Given

The season of Lent is a wonderful time to delve more deeply into matters of the spirit. We will hold a Quiet Morning from 9:00 AM to noon on Saturday, March 10. The morning will begin in the Meeting Room, and the rhythm of the morning will be three brief reflections followed by time for individuals to reflect, pray, walk or rest as they are moved. Thomas Keating's book "Intimacy With God" is a fabulous introduction to this spiritual practice.
