The intent of preaching at St. Francis is to proclaim God’s love for those gathered and the larger creation and to engage people in helpful and meaningful reflection on life and the life of faith. As we like to say, “You don’t need to check your brain at the door.” In such busy and complex times, it is important to find places that do not slip into easy and constricting dogmatism or vacuous libertinism. We like to think that we strike a healthy balance of thoughtful reflection, faithful challenge, and the all important sense of humor.
