In 1983, the Rev. Carol Gadsden arrived at St. Francis as seminarian; upon her graduation in 1985, she became Father Mayberry’s associate, a position she held until 1989 with her call to the Diocese of Massachusetts.  Over the course of her forty years of ordained ministry, Carol has been a vicar, an interim (three times), a priest-in-charge (four times), and a rector (twice). She retired from the Diocese of New York as the rector of St. Thomas Church in Mamaroneck in 2021.   Retirement didn’t last, as she recently ended a call as interim at St. John’s, Essex, where she lives with her wife, Linda March.  Although she is truly and fully retired, the opportunity to be back at St. Francis was too wonderful an offer to say no!
