Miles for a Mission may happen on just one day, but it takes months of planning and a whole lot of people to make it happen! This year, all that hard work came together in support of INTEMPO, the wonderful organization selected by our Outreach Committee. Long before the September 20, our MFM team was busy procuring sponsors, ordering T-shirts, designing banners, getting food and water, and taking care of the many details that go into an event like this. Then, an army of volunteers stepped in to stuff shirts, hang flags, prepare the grounds, and get everything ready to welcome our runners, walkers and canine friends. It was truly a team effort, and we are so grateful to everyone who played a part!
And then came race day . . . and the rain! Despite the less-than-perfect weather, our volunteers and participants showed up with enthusiasm and good spirits. Thanks to everyone who handled bibs, registration, hospitality, timing, photos, and so much more. Unfortunately, the weather meant that we had to cancel Dogapalooza this year, and we certainly missed the wagging tails and furry faces that usually add to the fun.
Rain or shine, Miles for a Mission truly takes a village, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
